I found Carfax to be most helpful and highly recommend that people buy locally since it saves transportation costs AND you can go look at the car. Several of the cars I had earmarked through Autotrader.com and automart.com were not as nice in person as they looked on the web. I just finished purchasing a new car as well. Of course we don't know whether the seller will actually get their asking price, but that was a good indication that we hit the low end of the price range! If you can find a car or truck on a map it means that it actually exists. If you can find a vehicle close to home you can easily inspect the car in person thus reducing your risk significantly. So if everyone would start their search of “location critical” items like automobiles on MotorMapUSA.com they could save both time and money.
