I have a laundry question for you

I stumbled across the SPIN-X centrifugal spindryer via a link from MetaEfficient. Have any of you ever used this (or anything like it)? More broadly, how do you do your laundry? So far I’ve done it all pretty much the typical washer-and-dryer way, and I’m wondering if line drying and other “alternative” methods are worth the time they take. What do you think?

  • Interesting blog you have here!

    Keep up the good work.

Why not try a 14-30 day experiment and see if it impacts your energy bill. Try line drying with a 5min fluff at the beginning or end to keep the clothes from being stiff or just line dry without using the dryer at all.

Goodness, its $429! How long will it take you in saving electricity by not using your dryer as long to make up that $429? I don’t think its worth it. You can run your clothes through the spin cycle again at the end of the wash to get extra water out or hang them on the line ilke Dawn says.

Thanks for your comment, Kassy. To be honest, I haven’t seriously considered buying the SPIN-X. I don’t think I’ve even casually considered it. It seems like an interesting idea, but you’d have to own a laundromat or a health club or something for it to pay for itself.
